Something not explained in consultations, because transport and housing are always done separately. However here is a unifying map. This is the route the council favours for the Melksham Bypass superimposed on the development sites proposed for massive new housing developments.

The planned development can be found in the  'final pool of potential sites for further detailed assessment' in the Wiltshire Local Plan consultation pages for Melksham.

The council admits : 'Public footpaths that are affected by the emerging route may need to be diverted locally and directed under underpasses several locations, so that connectivity from one side of the route to the other in provided for walkers, cyclists and horse riders'.
