Not finished. To include RIS2 and Highways England schemes, and HIF...New roads are build in tandem with new housing estates. That's why Homes England, a government body, will give local authorities hundreds of millions of pounds to build a new road to open up countryside to build on.  But why are we building in the middle of nowhere when we have so many brownfield sites waiting? Why are we not building around modern mass transit systems close into our cities instead of countryside sprawl? In this section we try to explain how and why.  Link to the government's explanation.
